Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds Friendship Card

Good Morning! The Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds bundle is one of the prettiest line art floral stamp sets and dies ever. And the dies cut out several of the images in the beautiful Hues of Happiness designer series paper, so I cut some out for today’s card. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I embossed a panel of Hues of Happiness designer series paper with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder and adhered it to a Melon Mambo mat. I adhered the panel to the front of a Blushing Bride card base with dimensionals. I cut a Basic White panel with the notebook and lacy diamonds dies and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals.

I cut several flowers and leaves from the Hues of Happiness DSP and adhered them to the card front with glue dots and dimensionals. I cut a couple of strips of the DSP with the long banner dies from the Stylish Shapes dies and adhered them to the front of the card with glue dots. I tied a loopy bow with Parakeet Party metallic ribbon and tucked it under the large flower, adhering it with a glue dot.

I stamped the pretty sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes die. I adhered it to the front of the card with dimensionals and finished the card front with glossy dots.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds stamp set in Melon Mambo ink on a Basic White panel and adhered it to a Melon Mambo mat. I adhered another Die cut DSP flower to the bottom corner and adhered it to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

The Hues of Happiness DSP is one of the prettiest designer series paper packs in the retiring Annual Catalog. I love that you can use the Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds bundle dies to cut out the flowers for a quick card. And the sentiments in this retiring bundle are some of the prettiest around!

Stampin’ Up! Desert Details for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The Stampin’ Up! Desert Details bundle is a pretty South West themed stamp set with pretty Photopolymer stamps and dies and wonderful sentiments. II used it to make a friendship/encouragement Z-Fold card for today’s hop. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a sketch challenge this week:

I adhered panels of Delicate Desert designer series paper to the left side of the Calypso Coral card base and the front and back sides of the middle section. I used the the long embossed Stampin’ Up! Desert Details die to cut two strips of Calypso Coral and adhered the pretty die cuts to each side of the left section with liquid glue.

I cut a panel of Soft Succulent with the large Stampin’ Up! Desert Details large rectangle die and cut a panel of Delicate Desert DSP with the small one. I adhered the DSP rectangle to the card stock rectangle with liquid glue. I used the diamond die to cut four diamonds and adhered three to the large rectangle and one to the inside of the center section of the card base. I used the Agave die to cut another panel of Soft Succulent Delicate Desert DSP, keeping the centers of the leaves. I adhered the leaves to the rectangle with glue dots.

I stamped the large flower from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details cling stamp set inPale Papaya ink on Basic White and cut it out with the coordinating die. I used the light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blend to accent the shadows of the petals and adhered the flower to the large rectangle die cut with dimensionals. I tied a linen thread Bow and tucked it under the flower with a glue dot. I adhered the large die cut rectangle to the left panel of the card base with liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details stamp set in Gray Granite ink on Basic White. I trimmed the sentiment with my trimmer, close to the sentiment and sniped diagonal ends. I adhered the label to the card front with dimensionals and glue dots and finished the front with Pastel Iridescent gems.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the bottom and top of a Basic White panel with the long diamond stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details stamp set in Gray Granite ink. I adhered the last panel of Delicate Desert DSP to the right side and adhered the panel to the right section of the card base with Stampin’ Seal.

The pretty Stampin’ Up! Desert Details bundle is retiring at beginning of next month along with the Delicate Desert DSP. The pretty designs on the DSP I used remind me of beautiful South West sunsets. the embossed designs on the die cuts have a unique Native American feel that is beautiful and magic!

Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers

Good Morning! The Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers bundle is a pretty floral stamp set with bold sentiments. It is on the January – April Mini Catalog retiring list and I paired it with retiring In Colors Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent for a thank you card using an emboss resist watercoloring technique. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I adhered a panel of Delicate Desert designer series paper to a Basic White mat and adhered the layered panel to the front of a Pale Papaya card base. I stamped the large flower from the Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers stamp set in Versamark ink on Basic White. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and shook off the excess. I heated it with my heat tool until it was bright and shiny.

I used a water painter to apply Soft Succulent ink to the leaves and Pale Papaya ink to the flowers. You’re not supposed to use Basic White for watercolor, but it didn’t turn out bad. It didn’t blend as smoothly as using watercolor paper or shimmery white paper, and I colored it quickly so it wouldn’t get too wet. I patted it with a paper towel to remove color from the embossing and cut it out with the coordinating die. I cut three large detailed leaves from Delicate Desert DSP.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers stamp set in Soft Succulent on Basic White and cut it out with the sentiment die. I wound some linen thread around the card front, adhering it with Stampin’ Seal. I adhered the flowers over the linen thread with dimensionals and tucked the leaves under the flower. I adhered the label with glue dots and dimensionals and finished the card front with Soft Succulent Opal Rounds.

For the inside of the card, I trimmed the bottom with Delicate Desert DSP and adhered it to the inside of the card. This leaves plenty of room for a personal message.

The white embossed outline for the flowers gives the flowers in the Stampin’ Up! Fragrant Flowers stamp set a softer, more delicate look. The stamps come in both cling and photopolymer and the dies are discounted for the Last Chance Products sale.

Last Chance Products Sale Starts Today!

For these retiring catalogs, there will not be a Carryover List. You can find carryover products in the upcoming Annual Catalog.

A few things to know about the retiring lists and the Last Chance products:

  • Items on the retiring list are only available while supplies last, so order soon to make sure that you are able to get the items that you are wanting!
  • The 2021-2023 In Color items, ink pads, refills, Stampin’ Blends and cardstock are usually some of the first items to sell out (The Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends are already gone!!).
  • There will be retiring colors as part of the Color Refresh, and these items will likely sell out early as well!
  • Some of the items will have sale prices listed with discounts up to 60% off.

Note that while some of the bundles are on the retiring list, the individual stamps and dies/punched may be carried over. Also, if one of the items in a retiring bundle is deeply discounted, the total price may be less than the bundled price, so pull out your calculators to double check.

Stampin’ Up! Desert Details for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The Stampin’ Up! Desert Details is a wonderful southwest theme cling stamp and die set with unique images and sentiments. I’ve had a lot of fun playing with it and experimenting with different techniques, so I decided to use three cactus flowers as my centerpiece for today’s card. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a sketc challenge this week featurinng three flowers – here is the pretty sketch we are using:

I stamped three of the large cactus flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details stamp set in Daffodil Delight ink on Basic White. After the ink dried, I used a Crushed Curry watercolor pencil to add shading around each petal and the center. This really makes the flower pop. I cut them out with the coordinating die and put them aside. I used the long agave (or are they aloe?) die to cut two leaf frond clusters from the Soft Succulent Dry Brush Metallic specialty paper.

I used the diamond and triangle die from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Detail dies to cut three sections of a Soft Succulent Panel of Delicate Desert DSP. I used a sponge dauber to apply Gray Granite ink to the long diamond stamp and stamped it all over the panel. This gave it a light, splotchy look. I finally ran the panel through the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder to give it texture. I adhered it to a Cajun Craze panel of Delicate Desert DSP and then adhered it to the front of a Soft Succulent card base with liquid glue.

I adhered the leaves to the card front with glue dots and looped some gold trim around the card, adhering it with glue dots. I adhered the three cactus flowers with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Detail stamp set in Cajun Craze ink on Delicate Desert DSP. I cut the sentiment out with the largest banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies using the two step die cutting method (to shorten the label) and cut a Basic White white label the same size. I adhered the DSP label to the Basic White backing with liquid glue and popped it onto the card with dimensionals. I finished the card with gold adhesive sequins.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the small cactus flower from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details stamp set in Daffodil Delight ink on a Basic White panel. I accented the center and petals with the Crushed Curry water color pencil to get some contrast. I cut the top with the diamond and triangle die. I stamped and embossed a strip of Soft Succulent Delicate Desert DSP to match the front background and adhered it to the bottom of the panel and adhered it to a Cajun Craze Delicate Desert DSP mat. I adhered the layered panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal. Finally, I adhered a panel of the Cajun Craze DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it with my paper snips.

It’s fun to see the Cajun Craze peeking through the die cuts on the card and gold sequins are the perfect trimming for anything with the Dry Brushed Metallic DSP.

Stampin’ Up! Desert Details Card

Good Morning! I finally pulled out my Stampin’ Up! Desert Details bundle for today’s card and I am in love! This beautiful cling stamp set with dies has wonderful Native American art and desert theme images that are so unique and beautiful! You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I cut a panel of Soft Succulent Dry Brushed Metallic specialty designer series paper with both of the fancy rectangle dies in the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details dies to make a frame. I adhered the frame to a panel of Delicate Desert designer series paper with liquid glue and adhered them both to a Pale Papaya mat. I adhered the layered panel to the front of a Gray Granite card base with dimensionals.

I cut two Soft Succulent agave plants from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details dies and used small pieces of scotch tape to keep the centers secure. I cut one in the middle (to keep the long frond on the card) and adhered all three to the card front with liquid glue. I stamped the large desert flower with Pale Papaya ink and two of the small flowers in So Saffron ink on Basic White and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I adhered the flowers together with glue dots and adhered them to the card front with dimensionals. I used the small flower stamp to apply Soft Succulent ink to a length of white crinkle ribbon, made a bow and adhered it to the card front with a glue dot.

I stamped the sentiment in Soft Succulent ink on a strip of Pale Papaya. I cut a panel of Delicate Desert DSP with the fancy diamond die from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details dies and adhered it to the back of the label with liquid glue. I adhered the layered label to the card front with dimensionals. I added more bling with the Gold Faceted sequins on the label, frame and around the flowers.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the small flower from the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details stamp set in Pale Papaya ink in the corner of a Basic White panel. I adhered a strip of Delicate Desert DSP to the bottom and adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

The shine from the dry brush metallic paper and the fun sequins is a beautiful contrast to the rustic desert designs. I love the natural feel of the Stampin’ Up! Desert Details bundle designs and I also love the fun sentiments.
