Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden Watercolor Friendship Card Video Tutorial

Good Morning! Today I’m sharing a friendship card using the Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden photopolymer stamp set and Garden Gateway Dies that I made during my Facebook Live video tutorial yesterday afternoon. I CASE’d a card from the annual catalog because it uses a watercolor with ink technique to color the images and I was excited to try out my new water painters! You can find the supplies used to create this project at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

Here is the Facebook Live video showing how I made card:

I also posted the video to my YouTube Channel and you can view it here if you prefer.

I die cut a panel of Shimmery White with the third largest Stitched Rectangles Dies and used the large brush water painter to create a color wash with Pool Party on top and Old Olive on the bottom. I flattened the panel by placing it in a folded sheet of typing paper and ironing it, since the watercoloring caused it to warp.

I stamped the garden gate from the Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden photopolymer stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink on Shimmery White card stock. I also stamped three of the tall flower clusters and two of the medium flower clusters. I cut out all the elements with the coordinating dies from the Garden Gateway Dies. Using the fine tip water painter, I colored the gate with Cinnamon Cider ink and the flowers with Highland Heather, Terracotta Tile, Bumblebee and Granny Apple Green inks.

I cut a panel of Pool Party from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ designer series paper pack with the third largest Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it offset to the back of the watercolored background with Stampin’ Seal. I adhered the gate and one of the tall flowers to the panel with Stampin’ Seal and popped another tall flower cluster and the shorter flowers on with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment on a panel of Shimmery White card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, trimmed the bottom and adhered it to the panel with Stampin’ Seal. I embossed a panel of Pool Party with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Pool Party card base. I popped the layered watercolor panel on with dimensionals and finished the card with three Terracotta Tile butterflies.

I saved two flower clusters for the inside of the card, so I adhered them to the bottom of a Whisper White panel and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! Grace’s Garden bundle is such a sweet set and is beautiful when watercolored! I haven’t used the watercolor technique in a long time and while it was a bit messier, it was a lot of fun. And I really like the new Stampin’ Up! water painters! I’m already planning which flower stamps to watercolor in the coming weeks!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a new kind of challenge this week – a theme challenge! So we are all creating projects around a theme, and this week’s theme gave me an excuse to pull out the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle for today’s card:

This week’s theme is:

I adhered a panel of the pretty Forever Greenery designer series paper to the front of a Soft Sea Foam card base. I cut a panel of Soft Sea Foam card stock with a scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and embossed it with the Greenery embossing folder. I stamped the leaf clusters from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern cling stamp set in Pear Pizzazz and Pretty Peacock inks on a Whisper White panel and cut them out with the coordinating dies from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink and cut it out with the fancy circle die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I stamped the small leaf cluster from the Rooted in Nature cling stamp set twice in Versamark ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat set. I cut it out with the coordinating die from the Nature’s Root Dies. I cut the boughs with the Forever Flourishing Dies from Pretty Peacock and Soft Sea Foam card stock.

I adhered the stamped leaves on the die Soft Sea Foam scalloped panel with liquid glue. I adhered a gold hoop with glue dots and adhered the gold embossed leaf clusters on top with glue dots. I popped the sentiment on with dimensionals and made a double bow with gold floss and white ribbon and adhered it to the panel with glue dots. I adhered the panel to the card front with dimensionals and finished the card front off with three gilded gems.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the leaf clusters from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set in Pear Pizzazz and Pretty Peacock inks on a Whisper White panel. I trimmed the bottom with a strip of Forever Greenery DSP and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

This theme was a great excuse to pull out the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle and use it for a project! It’s been a while since I’ve played with this set and I was reminded of how beautiful and versatile it is.

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Friendship Card II

Good Morning! Today I have another friendship card made with the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle. I think this is one of my favorites in the new catalog – it is certainly one that I am enjoying A LOT! You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I adhered a panel of Forever Greenery designer series paper to a Just Jade panel and popped it on a Pretty Peacock card base with dimensionals. Rather than centering the panel, I placed it off to the side so that the side that opens has a thicker border. I then adhered a beautiful panel of the Forever Gold laser cut specialty designer series paper on top with liquid glue. The Forever Gold paper is so versatile because it has panels (like the one I’m using today), labels and leaf clusters! There are so many different uses and they step up the design on every card they are used on.

I die cut the large fern leaf from the Forever Flourishing Dies from Mint Macaron card stock and adhered it on the panel with glue dots. I stamped the round leaf cluster from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern cling stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White and cut it out with the coordinating die. I stamped the little leaf cluster from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set in Just Jade ink on Whisper White and cut it out with the coordinating die. I adhered the two leaf clusters to the card front with glue dots.

I stamped the sweet sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White and cut it out with the fancy circle die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. This beautiful die fits the sentiment perfectly and makes the label extra special. I adhered the label to the card front with dimensionals.

I did something different to decorate the inside of the card. I die cut little sprigs from Mint Macaron, Just Jade and pretty Peacock and arranged them along the side of a Whisper White panel before adhering it to the inside of the card. This is a different from just trimming the panel with a strip of DSP – Does it work?

With the elegant gold foil overlay and fancy label die cut, I felt that this card didn’t need any additional rhinestones or ribbons. The Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle and the other coordinating products really make it simple to create beautiful cards for anyone to celebrate any occasion.

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Friendship Card Video Tutorial

Good Morning! Today I’m sharing a friendship card made with the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony bundle that I made during my Facebook Live video tutorial yesterday afternoon. The Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony bundle is one of the new sets in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. I’ve grown peonies in my garden for several years now and they’re one of my favorite flowers. Last week, they started to bloom, but we had some severe storms over the last few days, so they aren’t so pretty anymore ☹️. So I’ll wait for them to bloom next year to get some pictures. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

Here is the Facebook Live video showing how I made the card:

I also posted the video to my YouTube Channel and you can view it here if you prefer.

I started by cutting a panel of Gray Granite card stock with the pretty scalloped border die from the Peony Dies. This die cuts the scalloped border and embosses a loopy trim at the same time – it’s so feminine and pretty. I stamped the sweet friend sentiment by covering the parts of the sentiment stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony cling stamp set with tape before inking it up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After inking, I removed the tape (be careful because it can be very messy) and stamped the bottom of the Gray Granite panel. I adhered the stamped panel to a Peony Garden designer series paper panel and then to a Petal Pink mat with multipurpose liquid glue.

I die cut the leaves and flower parts with the dies from the Peony Dies from Whisper White card stock. I sponged the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink and then the adhered the leaves together. I colored the stamen with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and I used Petal Pink ink to sponge the flower sections. I made the ink most intense in the back of the flower and in the front section where you can see the inside of the petals.

I assembled the flower with multipurpose liquid glue on the lower edge of each petal. First I adhered the Daffodil Delight stamen to the smallest flower section and then applied the glue to the bottom and carefully slipped it into the next larger flower section, lining up the bottom edge. I repeated this until the flower was assembled. It sounds complicated, but it’s fairly easy because the bottom edges have curves that are pretty simple to line up. I adhered the leaves to the Gray Granite strip with multipurpose liquid glue and adhered the flower with dimensionals on the top and multipurpose liquid glue on the bottom. I added three of the gorgeous Elegant Faceted Gems and a Gray Granite shimmer ribbon bow. I adhered the decorated panel to the front of a Petal Pink card base.

I stamped the medium peony from the Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony to the bottom of a Whisper White panel after stamping off and adhered a strip of the Peony Garden designer series paper to the bottom. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

The gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony bundle is so fantastic! The stamps are gorgeous and each image has a coordinating die so there is no need to fussy cut. There is a variety of sentiments that are really sweet and pretty and even a background stamp for adding texture. And finally the 3D die cut peony flower is absolutely amazing! It is definitely a set that you will want to add to your card making tool chest! And if you have been thinking about joining Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator, consider getting this as your FREE bundle this month!

Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Friendship Card

Good Morning! Today is the big day with the opening of the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog!! Yay!! To celebrate, I made a pretty friendship card with the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle! You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used – and everything is available today!!!

I embossed a panel of Pear Pizzazz card stock with one of the Greenery embossing folders and adhered it to a panel of Forever Greenery designer series paper. I adhered both to the front of a Garden Green card base. I cut out a leafy branch from vellum using the medium die from the Forever Flourishing Dies. I stamped two small leaf clusters from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern cling stamp set in Old Olive ink on Old Olive card stock and cut them out with the coordinating die from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

I added a gold leaf branch from the Forever Gold Laser cut specialty paper and made a leafy arrangement on the embossed panel, adhering them with mini glue dots. I wrapped some gold thread in circles and also adhered it with mini glue dots.

I stamped the pretty sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern stamp set in Garden Green ink on a Whisper White panel and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle Die. I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to make a scalloped mat for the label using the two step die cutting method. I adhered the label to the mat with liquid glue and adhered the layered label to the card front with dimensionals. I finished off the card front with three gilded gems.

I decorated the inside by …

The Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern bundle is sure to be one of the favorites from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog with it’s gorgeous leafy images & dies and sweet sentiments. Be sure to check it out along with all the other amazing new products and enjoy shopping!!

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Friendship Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! For today’s card, I used the sweet sentiment from the Free as a Bird stamp set and the flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical bundle to make a note card for your BFF. You can find the supplies that I used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock.

We have a sketch challenge this week, and here is the sketch we are using:

I embossed a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock with the Coastal Weave embossing folder and adhered it to a So Saffron card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I cut a panel of the Tropical Oasis designer series paper and adhered it to a real red mat before popping it on the card base with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird cling stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a Whisper White strip and cut it out with the small long Stitched Rectangle die. I adhered it to a Real Red mat and then to the flowers with multipurpose liquid glue.

I stamped the frangipani flower and large leaf from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White. I colored the flower with the Light Real Red, Light Flirty Flamingo, Light Mango Melody and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I also used the Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to create highlights on the flower petals. I used the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin Blends to color the leaves. I cut the flower and leaf out with the coordinating die from the In The Tropics dies.

I die cut three long leaves from Old Olive cardstock, a set of three flowers from So Saffron and Real Red card stock and five of the small leaves from Shaded Spruce card stock. I arranged the die cuts on the card front and adhered them with multipurpose liquid glue and dimensionals where they were half on the floral panel and half off. Note that some were adhered to the embossed panel with multipurpose liquid glue. I finished off the frangipani flower with a large red rhinestone and the little red flowers with yellow rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones. I added small Red Rhinestones to the yellow flowers.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a strip of the Tropical Oasis DSP to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I stamped three partial frangipani flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set in Real Red after stamping off twice. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

I’m happy the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical and Free As A Bird stamp sets will be carried over to the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, but they won’t be available as a bundle with the 10% discount.

Good Morning! On Saturday we had our Inkin’ Krew Ornate Garden Facebook Event where we shared lots of projects made with the new Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Suite. Did you get a chance to tune in? We had several Facebook Live video tutorials and I shared the tutorial for this card. I used the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style bundle along with the Ornate Garden specialty designer series paper and the Grace’s Garden and Daisy Lane stamp sets. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

Unfortunately I can’t link to the Facebook video ☹️, but it is on my YouTube Channel and you can view it here.

I stamped the sentiment from the Grace’s Garden photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a small panel of So Saffron vellum. Be careful because the ink will take longer to dry on the vellum and will be easy to smear if you handle it too early, so I put it aside to let it dry. Using the Leaf Punch, I punched a leaf cluster from Old Olive card stock. I stamped three of the small petal clusters from the Daisy Lane cling stamp set with So Saffron ink after stamping off. I cut them out with the Medium Daisy Punch. I gently curved the petals on the daisies with my fingers, curving the bottom layer up, the top layer down and the middle layer alternating up and down. I adhered the layers with a dot of multipurpose liquid in the center and topped it off with a large gold faceted gem.

I cut the fancy frame from the Ornate Layers Dies from Terracotta Tile card stock. After cleaning the gazillion little pieces that were cut out – this is such an ornate frame and I love it! – I aligned the 3rd smallest of the Stitched Rectangles Dies in the center and cut out the center. I love how these dies leave a stitched edge on both the inside and outside! With the frame ready, I began to assemble my card base.

I adhered a panel of the Ornate Garden specialty designer series paper to a Terracotta Tile card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I adhered the frame to the vellum with pieces of dimensionals. The dimensionals on the side will extend beyond the vellum to adhere it to the card base, but the top and bottom won’t, so I added a strip of multipurpose liquid glue to the back of the vellum that is hidden by the frame. I adhered it to the card base. I adhered the leaf with multipurpose liquid glue and the flower with glue dots. I finished it off with a Terracotta Tile bow.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the little flourish from the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style cling stamp set in Early Espresso ink at the top of a Whisper White panel. I added a strip of the Ornate Garden specialty DSP to the bottom and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

Now, I have to admit that I did some surgery to my card after the video ended. In realtime, I stamped the sentiment too hight and crooked as you can see in the picture here. So I snipped the dimensionals behind the frame and trimmed the vellum (luckily it was just stuck down behind the frame. I then re-stamped the sentiment properly and re-attached the frame to the vellum and then adhered it to the card base. It looks much better and from the pictures above, I don’t think you can tell that it needed to be fixed!

I hope that you enjoyed the Inkin’ Krew Ornate Garden event if you got a chance to join it Saturday afternoon. And I hope you got a lot of inspiration and ideas on how you will use the products in the Ornate Garden Suite. If you didn’t, the group will still be there and you can check out the postings and watch the videos on replay. Here is the link to the group where you can join and we will get you approved as soon as we can: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1833741716756137/. Now to end my post with a better picture…

Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided Kindness Card

Good Morning! Today I’m sharing a card made with the pretty Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided photopolymer stamp set. This stamp set has a beautiful leaf branch and wonderful sentiments. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I stamped the leaf branch several times in Pear Pizzazz ink on a Whisper White panel. The stamp is very large, so I used my Stamparatus. It is a photopolymer stamp set, so you can see through it and place it before stamping to get the arrangement that you want to fill the panel. I colored the leaves with the Light So Saffron, berries with Light Rich Razzleberry and the stems with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Then I colored the background with the Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White. I adhered it to a Pear Pizzazz mat with multipurpose liquid glue and then to the stamped panel. I adhered the stamped panel to another Pear Pizzazz mat with multipurpose liquid glue and then popped it on a Soft Seafoam card base with dimensionals. I added a green rhinestone to the label to finish the front.

I decorated the inside by stamping the border from the Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink on a Whisper White Panel. I stamped some leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink in the corner and colored it the same as the front panel. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

The Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Braided stamp set also comes in a bundle with the Braided Border Punch.

Stampin’ Up! My Meadow Friendship Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! It’s Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop time so WELCOME! I wanted to share a card that celebrates the promise of Spring so I turned to the lovely Stampin’ Up! My Meadow photopolymer stamp set to create my card for today. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

We have a sketch challenge this week, and here is the sketch we are using:

I first wanted to make the Stampin’ Up! My Meadow gazebo as a focal image, but I felt it was too big, so I decided to use the wheel barrow and fill it with tulips. I stamped the wheel barrow in Basic Gray and Real Red and the flowers in Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green. I put it on a little Sahara Sand stone path and stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in Soft Suede. I adhered the image to a Seaside Spray scalloped mat cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die. I finished the little panel with another tulip cluster, a Seaside Spray faceted dot and a linen thread bow.

I used the other images in the Stampin’ Up! My Meadow stamp set to represent the swirls in the sketch. But first, I sponged the top of a Whisper White panel with Seaside Spray and the bottom in Pear Pizzazz. For the top images, I used the gazebo (yay, I got to include the gazebo in the card!!) stamped in Soft Suede with some Gray Granite birds and Pear Pizzazz grass. On the other side I added more grass and the trees stamped in Gray Granite with stamped off Flirty Flamingo leaves. I tried to make it look like the cherry trees in my back yard that are starting to bloom.

The bottom swirls were all about the Mango Melody Tulips. But I did add the little Japanese bridge and a little creek in Soft Suede and Seaside Spray. I adhered the panel to a Seaside Spray mat and then to a Sahara Sand card base with dimensionals. I popped the wheel barrow image on top with dimensionals.

For the inside panel, I stamped more Mango Melody Tulips and Cherry Trees on a Whisper White panel and adhered it to the inside of the card.

The faux swirl Stampin’ Up My Meadow little scene vignettes are mostly hidden by the main panel, so use your imagination to place yourself in a beautiful, peaceful Spring retreat! And I’ll push the wheel barrow to bring you more Mango Melody tulips.

Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Sale-a-Bration is over, but it’s April and so we have an early release of the Ornate Garden Suite from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! I have uses some of the dies from the Ornate Layers Dies along with the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow photopolymer stamp bundle to create today’s card.

We have a color challenge this week, and here is the sketch we are using:

Stamp the flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a Whisper White panel. Color the flowers with the Real Red, Light Old Olive, Light Soft Suede and Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. Cut the flowers out with the coordinating die from the Budding Blooms Dies and brush the flower petals with clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Old Olive and cut it out with the die from the Ornate Layers Dies. This sentiment fits perfectly in the new die! Cut the lacy background die from Whisper White and adhered it to the label with liquid glue. Stamp two berry sprigs in Memento Tuxedo Black and color them with Light Old Olive and Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. Cut them out with the coordinating die.

Emboss the Soft Suede panel with the Corrugated embossing folder. This embossing folder will shrink the paper, so the cut is about 1/4″ longer than needed. After embossing, measure and trim to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhere it to a Soft Suede card base with liquid glue. Adhere the berry sprigs with liquid glue and the label and flowers with dimensionals. Finish the card front with a Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow and three red rhinestone jewels.

Stamp the flowers along the side of a Whisper White panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and color it to match the front. Adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and then to the inside of the card with liquid glue. Here is another picture of the front where you can see a bit of the Wink of Stella sparkle.

The flowers and dies in the Stampin’ Up! Bloom and Grow bundle are some of my favorites in this year’s annual catalog, so I’m really glad to be able to pair it with the new Ornate Layers Dies.
