Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The beautiful Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender bundle and Perennial Lavender designer series paper are some of the prettiest new products in the new Mini Catalog, especially if you are a purple lover! I used these products to make a fun fold card for today – a simple Z-fold with die cut extender panel. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a color challenge this week, and I used most of the colors, but not all!

I adhered panels of Perennial Lavender designer series paper to Gorgeous Grape mats and adhered them to panels of the card base. I used the same pattern for the front and inside and a contrasting pattern for the middle section. I used the second largest rectangle to cut a Gorgeous Grape panel. It only cut three sides, so I aligned the die with the scallops to cut the fourth side and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine a second time and it made a nice square! I adhered a checked panel of Perennial Lavender DSP to the front and adhered it to front of the card by applying liquid glue to the left side.

I cut the double lavender sprig from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender dies from Gorgeous Grape card stock and adhered it to the card front with glue dots. I cut three lavender leaf sprig dies from Lost Lagoon and adhered them to the card with glue dots. I stamped the lavender sprig bunch from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender stamp set in Highland Heather ink on Basic White. I used the little flower stamp to stamp Gorgeous Grape ink over the Highland Heather sprigs and then cut it out with the lavender sprig bunch die.

I stamped the stems from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink on Basic White and cut them out with the coordinating die. I adhered the stems to the sprigs and popped them on the card front with dimensionals. I made a knot in a short length of burlap ribbon and adhered it with glue dots. I finished the card front with there purple shimmer gems.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the little butterfly from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender stamp set in Highland Heather ink on Basic White. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal, lining it up so that it would be covered by the die cut when the card is closed.

I love the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender bundle more and more as I play with it. The flowers are pretty when stamped in a single color, but there are so many ways to get multiple colors and it’s so fun to experiment.

Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender Card

Good Morning! The Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender bundle is part of the Perennial Lavender Suite in the new catalog and I used it for a pretty card today. My card is CASE’d from a card in the catalog and uses a watercolor wash technique for the background! You can find the products I used at the bottom of my post along with the card stock sizes.

I used my water painter and a watercolor palette to apply water all over a panel of watercolor paper. I tapped a stamp block in Shaded Spruce ink and swirled my water painter in the ink on the block. The I brushed the ink on the wet paper using long horizontal strokes on the bottom of the panel. I used the same techniques to apply Fresh Freesia ink to the middle section and Crumb Cake ink to the top, cleaning my water painter each time. I set the panel aside to dry and cleaned up my stamp blocks, water painter and work area. After the panel dried, I cut it out with the second largest rectangle from the Perennial Postage dies.

I adhered a panel of floral Perennial Lavender designer series paper to the front of a Crumb Cake card base with liquid glue and popped the watercolor panel on top with dimensionals. I cut lavender sprigs from Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather using the double sprig die from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender dies and adhered them to the watercolor panel with glue dots.

I stamped the single flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender stamp set on Basic White. There are two stamps, designed to stamp on top of each other. The largest stamp was inked in Highland Heather ink and I used a sponge dauber to apply Berry Burst and Orchid Oasis to spots. I inked the smaller stamp in Gorgeous Grape and stamped it on top. This produces a gorgeous blend of colors! I stamped two flower sprigs using this technique and cut them out with the coordinating die. I used stamped off Shaded Spruce for the stems and cut them out and adhered them to the flower. I adhered them to the card with dimensionals on top and glue dots on the stems.

I stamped the sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink on a Perennial Lavender DSP panel and cut it out with the second smallest rectangle Perennial Postage die. I made a bow with Crumb Cake baker’s twine and adhered it and Popped the label on top with dimensionals. I finished the card with purple shimmer gems.

I left the inside of the card blank, simply adhering a strip of Perennial Lavender DSP to the bottom of a Basic White panel. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

This card turned out to be a bit more complicated than I thought, but it was fun to make. I was reminded of how much fun it is to watercolor and a simple wash is easy to do. And aren’t the flowers in the Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender stamp set gorgeous! Using sponge daubers to add colors to the stamp results in a beautiful blend that is made even prettier with the second stamp. The Perennial Lavender suite is definitely one of the best!

Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage Hugs Card

Good Morning! Here’s a Big Hugs card made with the Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage bundle and other items from the Perennial Lavender suite. You can find the products I used at the bottom of my post along with the card stock sizes.

I used the pretty Sunday Stamps sketch SSC326 – Shape Up In The New Year for today’s card.

I embossed a Highland Heather panel with the Sale-A-Bration Softly Sophisticated 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Highland Heather card base. I cut a panel of Perennial Lavender designer series paper with the second largest rectangle die from the Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage dies using a two step method to get a smaller rectangle. I partially cut one side, moved the die and cut the other.

I measured my die cut DSP and cut a Gorgeous Grape mat 1/8″ larger (mine ended up being 2-3/4″ x 3-3/8″, but yours might be different depending on how wide you cut it) and adhered the DSP to the mat. I adhered the layered DSP to the card with dimensionals. I used a Blending Brush to apply Highland Heather ink to a large butterfly cutout – be careful around the antenna.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage stamp set in Berry Burst ink on the right side of a Fresh Freesia panel. I cut it out with the second smallest rectangle postage stamp die and adhhered it to the card with dimensionals and glue dots. I adhered the butterfly on top of the label and DSP with glue dots and finished the card with purple shimmer gems and a Soft Sorbet shimmer bow.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the butterflies from the Painted Lavender stamp set in Highland Heather in the corner of a Basic White panel. I trimmed the bottom with a strip of Perennial Lavender DSP and adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

The Perennial Lavender designer series paper is so pretty and the sentiments from the Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage bundle are really sweet. And the postage stamp dies are so versatile and un to work with.

Perennial Lavender designer series paper with a rectangular die from the Perennial Postage dies and adhered them to the front of the card with liquid glue.

I cut a sprig from Lost Lagoon card stock using a die from the Painted Lavender dies and adhered it to the card front with dots of liquid glue.

I adhered a butterfly cut out with glue dots and adhered some Purple Fine Shimmer gems around the sprig.

For the inside of the card, I stamped a sprig from the Painted Lavender stamp set on the side of a Basic White panel and adhered it to the inside of the card.
