Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala and More for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I had so much fun making today’s card – it’s so different and a bit busy. You can find the supplies I used and card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a color challenge in the Blog Hop this week, and here is the fun color palette we are using:

I was also inspired by a couple of challenges in the design of my card. First is the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Challenge TSOT467 with this cute sketch:

The second challenge is the TGIF Challenge #TGIFC274 Product Challenge using paper scraps:

These fun challenges combined well with the color palette to create today’s fun card! I started by arranging my strips of Playing with Patterns scraps on a panel of striped Playing with Patterns DSP panel and adhering them with liquid glue. Then I adhered the layered DSP panel to a Coastal Cabana panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala photopolymer stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a small Purple Posy panel and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles die.

I cut out the bird from the Birds & More dies from a small Purple Posy panel and the branch from a Coastal Cabana Panel. I punched two daisy petals from Whisper White card stock using the Medium Daisy Punch. I curled the petals backwards and adhered them together with liquid glue. I wrapped a length of Night of Navy ribbon around the panel and tied a bow on the left side. I adhered the label and the branch to the DSP strips with liquid glue and popped the panel on the front of a Night of Navy card base with dimensionals.

I popped the little bird on the branch with dimensionals and the daisy flower with glue dots. I added some Crushed Curry resin dots to the flower center and the branch. I finished the card front with three Purple Posy Butterfly Gems.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set in Night of Navy ink on a Whisper White panel. I stamped the small butterfly and antenna in Coastal Cabana ink next to the sentiment. I trimmed the bottom of the panel with Playing with Patterns DSP and adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

I was a little concerned about the unique color palette, but this turned out to be a really cheerful and fun card.

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala Thinking of You Card

Good Morning! Today I have a thinking of you card made with the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set. I wanted use this stamp set to make a card in hope of bringing back the butterflies. I haven’t seen too many of them in my yard yet – keeping my fingers crossed. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

My layout is inspired by the lovely SSC234 Going in Circles sketch by Sunday Stamps:

I adhered a panel of Forever Greenery designer series paper to Soft Sea Foam card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then to the front of a Just Jade card base with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala photopolymer stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a strip of Soft Sea Foam card stock and used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to trim the ends.

I stamped 3 sets of outline butterflies from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Whisper White card stock. Many of the butterfly stamps in this set stamp two butterflies at a time – a large one and a small one. They line up perfectly with the Butterfly Duet Punch! I used the solid wing stamps to color the large and small butterfly wings using Mango Melody ink. I was impressed at how well the Mango Melody ink made them look like monarch butterflies! I punched them out using the Butterfly Duet Punch. Then I stamped the little bodies on the butterflies using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I arranged the large butterflies and label on the card front and adhered the label with glue dots first. Then I used more glue dots to adhere some Just Jade ribbon that I wound on the card front behind the butterflies. I adhered the butterflies with glue dots last and finished off the card front with a Bumblebee enamel dot.

I saved the small butterflies for the inside of the card. I adhered a strip of the Forever Greenery DSP to the bottom of a Whisper White panel and adhered the small butterflies with glue dots. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Stampin’ Seal.

In addition to hoping for butterfly sightings, I spied a ton of blooming milkweed in the meadows behind my home. This is supposed to attract monarch butterflies, so yay! Butterflies – one of the simple pleasures of summer!

Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad Note Card

Good Morning! Today I am sharing a quick card made with the Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. We are in the final days of the Stampin’ Up! Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper sale. The Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad DSP is one of the paper sets included in the sale and it’s so beautiful! So I wanted to show how you can use DSP to make a quick card that is also special. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I wanted to use the Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad paper with all the song birds to say a last hello to the little birdies before they fly away for the winter. So I cut a large piece of the DSP and adhered it to a Mossy Meadow mat with liquid glue and then to a Calypso Coral card base with dimensionals.

I added a strip of Crumb Cake textured ribbon with snail. I stamped the a little note sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set in Versamark ink on a strip of Mossy Meadow, sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set it. I then trimmed the ends and adhered it to the card front with snail.

I stamped 3 flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Free as a Bird stamp set on Whisper White and colored them with Calypso Coral and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends. I then fussy cut the flowers. I molded the petals and added pearl centers (I colored the white pearls with the dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend). I die cut some leaf sprigs from the Stampin’ Up! Frosted Frames dies in Old Olive vellum and and attached the leaves and flowers to the card using mini glue dots.

I decorated the inside of the card by adding a strip of the same Stampin’ Up! Bird Ballad Designer Series paper to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I adhered the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and then to the inside of the card using liquid glue.

This is a simple pretty little card where the beautiful Designer Series paper is the star. A little ribbon, pearls, vellum and embossing add elegant accents that makes the card special without detracting from the paper. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and consider the Buy 3 Get 1 Free sale. It’s such a good deal! Thanks for visiting!

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala Just a Note Card

Good morning! Today’s card uses the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set with the Butterfly Duet Punch.

I started out by stamping a bunch of butterflies from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set on Thick Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring them with Stampin’ Blends and copic markers. I used light pastel colors – the light Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends along with yellow, green and blue copics. I randomly colored the butterfly wings so that each butterfly is different. The nice thing about these stamps is that you get a large and small butterfly with each stamp and they line up perfectly with the punch.

After stamping and coloring the butterflies, I punched them out and stamped the little butterfly bodies. I then arranged them on the Gingham Gala DSP in Grapefruit Grove with some of the butterflies going over the edge. I attached the butterflies to the paper with mini glue dots in the centers and trimmed the butterflies that went over the edge. Using the Thick Whisper White really gives the butterflies dimension on the paper! I then mounted it on a basic black mat and popped it on a Grapefruit Grove card base with dimensionals.

I took a scrap of basic black and stamped the ‘a little note’ sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set in Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder before heat setting. The font is real sweet and goes well with the casual and lighthearted gingham background and colorful butterflies. I wrapped the banner with some whisper white baker’s twine and tied a bow before popping it on the card with dimensionals.

On the inside of the card I took a piece of the gingham DSP and adhered it to the bottom of a piece of Whisper White with multipurpose liquid glue and attached three of the little butterflies with glue dots. I matted the inside piece in Basic Black and attached it to the card base with snail.

We went to our first cookout of the year Saturday and it was a perfect day. This card reminds me of summer picnics with all the butterflies and gingham.

The Gingham Gala DSP is currently available in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and will be retiring on June 3 or when supplies run out. The Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet Punch are currently sold as a bundle for 10% off. Both of these items are carried over into the 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog (Yay!!) but will no longer be available as a bundle at the discounted price. These are perfect for butterfly lovers!

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!
