Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Friendship Card

Good Morning! Today I have a fun summer friendship card that I made using the Stampin’ Up! Waterfront photopolymer stamp set. You can find supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

Today’s card was inspired by the fun sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday Challenge 413. This sketch was a little challenging – I hope that I’ve captured it! Check out the designers examples and the other challenge entries.

I love the Stampin’ Up! Waterfront stamp set because it allows you to stretch your creativity so much and I’m amazed at all the beautiful cards that folks have created with it. I started this scene by using the long double stroke stamp to create the island in Crumb Cake ink. I wanted the shoreline to resemble the scallops in the sketch, so I positioned the stamp horizontally and then turned it around and stamped again to get little coves. I double stamped to get lighter shades and sometimes just inked up part of the stamp to add color to specific areas. With this stamp set it’s fun to just build up the color until you get what you want. I next worked on the ocean in Coastal Cabana ink.

For the ocean, I used the long single stroke stamp and again double and triple stamped to get color variations that resembled waves. I next stamped the sun and then sponged the sky in the retired color Soft Sky.

I then stamped the palm tree grove by stamping the trunks from the Stampin’ Up! Waterfront stamp set using Soft Suede and then the tree tops using Shaded Spruce and Old Olive. By using both colors, I gave the image a little more depth. I then stamped the little cabanas, one for you and one for your friend, in Calypso Coral ink. I finished by stamping the small seagulls from the High Tide stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Once finished I adhered a Coastal Cabana mat to the back.

I took the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Waterfront stamp set and stamped it on a piece of scrap Whisper White paper in Calypso Coral ink. I cut it out with a stitched circle die from the Stitched Shapes die cuts. I then cut a scrap piece of Coastal Cabana using the decorative circle die from the Stitched Labels die cut set and adhered it to the back of the sentiment and popped it on the art piece with dimensional and popped them both to a Bermuda Bay card base, again with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I stamped a little scene using the same elements as the card front on another piece of Whisper White. I matted it again with Coastal Cabana cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! Waterfront stamp set is awesome for creativity expression – anything goes! And a day at the beach with friends is a perfect summer day. Can you hear the waves?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great summer day!
