Stampin’ Up! Celebrating You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The Stampin’ Up! Celebrating You cling stamp set is a sentiments only stamp set that has a pretty set of fonts and covers lots of special occasions. I need a graduation card for a friend’s son who enjoys the outdoors, both winter and summer, so I pulled out the On The Horizon 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and Horizon dies to create an outdoors scene. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a sketch challenge this week and here is the pretty sketch we are using:

I embossed a Soft Succulent panel with the Timber 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Soft Succulent card base. I wanted to use the mountains in the Horizon dies, so I cut a 1″ strip of purple New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP for the background mountain and a 1″ strip of whitish DSP for the snow detail. I wanted to use the curvy ground die in green, so I cut a 1″ strip of green DSP for the ground. Once I had my strips for these elements, I used them to select the background panel that coordinated with the strips I chose.

I cut the background panel with the third largest Stitched Rectangle Die. I cut the purple strip with the mountain background die and the whitish strip with the detailed mountain die. I adhered the whitish die cut to the purple die cut so that it looks like a snowy mountain. I cut the green strip with the curvy ground die and adhered the layered mountain and ground die cuts to the background. I stamped the birds from the On the Horizon cling stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered the die cut panel to a Basic Gray mat.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! On Celebrating You stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and cut it out with the small long skinny stitched rectangle die. I cut a Basic Gray panel with the same die and adhered it to the back of the label with glue dots. I looped Evening Evergreen Baker’s twine three times around the scene and tied a bow. I adhered the labels to the scene with dimensionals and popped the scene on the card front with dimensionals. I finished the label with two rustic metallic dots.

For the inside, I cut a 3/4″ strip of the background DSP and cut a bit more of the mountain, ground and snow die cuts using the leftovers from the card front. I adhered them to the background strip and stamped some birds over the mountain. I trimmed the excess with my paper snips and adhered the strip to a Basic White panel. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Celebrating You stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

It was so fun to play with the On The Horizon bundle for mountain card and it goes perfectly with the Stampin’ Up! Celebrating You stamp set for graduating Senior!

Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle and the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper are some of the prettiest items in the current Mini Catalog. One of the biggest reasons is that when you combine the pretty watercolor design paper with the unique stamps and dies, it’s so easy to make beautiful cards featuring natural landscapes. And these products work great with other stamp sets, so I combined them with the trees from the Grassy Grove bundle for today’s card. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a theme challenge this week about creating a scene, so of course I selected the Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle to make my card:

I embossed a Basic White panel with the Timeworn Text 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Basic White card base with liquid glue. I selected my panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and cut 1″ off the bottom and 1-1/2″ off the top. Then I cut 1-1/2″ off the side. I saved the bottom and side panels to use for this card.

I cut the remaining DSP panel with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangles die. I stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon cling stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on the side of the die cut panel and the grass in Evening Evergreen across the bottom. I stamped the birds in Basic Gray in the sky and adhered the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat. I popped the panel on the card front with dimensionals.

I stamped the trees from the Grassy Grove photopolymer stamp set in Garden Green on the small panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP that I put aside and cut it out with the coordinating die. I cut a panel of Evening Evergreen with the same die and adhered it to the back of the stamped trees to make it stiffer. I adhered the trees to the card front with dimensionals so that the horizon in the trees almost lined up with the background.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Versamark ink on Evening Evergreen. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder, shook off the excess and heated it with my heat tool until the powder was shiny. I cut the sentiment with the long label die from the Harvest dies so that the side was straight. I adhered the label to the card front with glue dots and finished the card front with pebble enamel shapes.

For the inside, I stamped the the trees from the Grassy Grove stamp set in Garden Green on the side of a Basic White panel. I stamped the grass from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on the other side. I used the grass die from the Horizon Dies to cut the 1″ wide strip of New Horizons DSP and stamped it with the grass stamp using Evening Evergreen. I adhered it to the inside panel with liquid glue and adhered the inside panel to an Evening Evergreen mat. I adhered the layered panel to the inside of the card.

So simple and so different! The Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle is perfect when paired with the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP for making landscapes – an easy way to feel like an artist!

Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon Thinking of You Card

Good Morning! Last week I finally pulled out my Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle for this card and I had a little of the New Horizons DSP left over. So I decided to use it for an example of the simplest and most elegant designs I’ve seen with this suite – a simple 3″ x 3″ panel mounted on a Basic White background. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon stamp set about 1″ from the bottom of a Basic White panel and adhered the panel to the front of an Evening Evergreen card base.

I stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon cling stamp set in Basic Gray twice on the New Horizons designer series paper panel. I stamped the little birds from the Mountain Air stamp set in the sky using Basic Gray. These little birds are perfectly proportioned for the small panel. I adhered the DSP panel to an Evening Evergreen mat with liquid glue.

I cut a panel of Evening Evergreen with the tree die from the Horizons die and adhered it to the DSP panel with dots of liquid glue. I adhered the panel to the card front with dimensionals and finished the front with a Brushed Metallic dot.

I stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon stamp set twice in Basic Gray on the bottom of a Basic White panel. I cut another set of trees from Evening Evergreen and adhered it to the panel so that I echo the design on the small DSP panel on the card front. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon bundle has so many stamps and dies that can be used to dress up a square panel of the New Horizon DSP for simple 3″ x 3″ scenes. The simple dark card stock framing makes the scene pop, and you can easily incorporate other nature stamp or die sets such as the Mountain Air stamp set. It can be kept simple or stepped up with additional embellishments or embossing and it’s a great option for masculine cards. And you can get real creative and make 4 cards from a single sheet of New Horizons DSP for a nice set of handmade cards!

Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! For today’s card, I used the wonderful Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon bundle with the beautiful New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper to make a masculine thank you card with an outdoors landscape. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

We have a sketch challenge this week. Here is the pretty sketch we are using:

I embossed a panel of Gray Granite with the Timeworn Type embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Gray Granite card base. I stamped the grass stamp from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon cling stamp set in Evening Evergreen on a panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper. I stamped the birds in the sky with Basic Gray ink and adhered the image to a Misty Moonlight mat.

I stamped stamped a Basic White panel with the wood stamp from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set using stamped off Gray Granite ink and cut it out with the fence die from the Horizon Dies. I used a sponge dauber to add more Gray Granite ink to distress the fence, giving it a weathered look. I used the grass die to cut three clumps from an Evening Evergreen panel of the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP. I trimmed the end off the first and adhered it to the DSP over the stamped grass. I gently curved the fence and applied liquid glue to the first and last slat and adhered it to the panel over the grasses. I trimmed the end off the second die cut grass and adhered it under the fence with dimensionals.

I inked up the thanks part of the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink and stamped it on a Gray Granite panel. I cut it out with the Messages die and adhered it to the panel with glue dots. I adhered the panel to the card front with dimensionals and adhered some Pebbles Enamel Shapes to the bottom around the fence and grasses.

For the inside, I stamped the grass stamp from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink in the corner of a Basic White panel. I stamped the birds in the top corner using Basic Gray ink. I adhered a strip of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP to the bottom and adhered the last grass die cut on top. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle is a lot of fun with it’s unique dies and great sentiments. And with the beautiful New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP, it is so easy to make beautiful watercolor landscape or seascape cards and be creative!
