Stampin’ Up! A Touch of Ink for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! Today I have a fun side-fold card made with the pretty Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink photopolymer stamp set. This is a Level 2 Sale A Bration item that is FREE with a $100 order (before taxes and shipping). And it’s full of beautiful two step stamping images with wonderful sentiments! You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

We have a theme challenge this week, and it’s to use a Sale A Bration product. So it’s perfect for my card today!

I stamped the outline butterfly from the Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a Basic White panel. I applied Balmy Blue ink to the inside of the solid butterfly wings stamp with my sponge dauber and stamped over the outline image. I applied Blackberry Bliss ink to the outside of the solid butterfly wings stamp set with my ink pad, used a sponge dauber to soften the edge and stamped it over the outline image. This gave me the Balmy Blue near the butterfly body fading to a dark Blackberry Bliss at the edge of the wings. Since the stamp is photopolymer, it’s fairly easy to line up. And it overlaps the outline wings image so it’s forgiving (and very artistic!). I fussy cut the butterfly body and wings.

I stamped the outline flower image from the Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink stamp set along the bottom and right side of the Basic White panel. I stamped the solid Flower image in Magenta Madness over the outline flowers. I used one of the new Blending Brushes to apply Balmy Blue ink to the remainder of the panel so it would look like the sky. Then I stamped another Outline butterfly on one of the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink – this allowed me to fussy cut the butterfly without legs and antenna. I adhered the panel to a Basic Black mat and adhered the body of the butterfly to the panel. I gently bent the butterfly’s wings after the glue dried.

I applied Stampin’ Seal to the hinge part of the Cinnamon Cider card base. I embossed the two panels of Oh So Ombre 6″ x 6″ designer series paper (another Sale A Bration item that is FREEE with a $50 purchase) with the Scripty embossing folder. I adhered the panels to Basic Black mats and then adhered them to the card front. I used my paper snips to notch the top and bottom of the hinge (I would have preferred to use the Classic Label punch, but I need to get one first), and wrapped a length of Magenta Madness ribbon around the card and tied a knot. I trimmed the ends and adhered the butterfly panel with dimensionals.

I used the Blending Brush to color another Basic White panel Balmy Blue and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink on it in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with the smallest oval from the Layering Ovals and adhered it to a Cinnamon Cider scalloped Oval cut from the smallest scalloped oval die. I adhered the labels to the card front with dimensionals and glue dots and finished it with a Magenta Madness enamel dot.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the outline flower from the Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink along the bottom of a Basic White panel. I stamped the solid flower image over it using Magenta Madness ink. I adhered the panel to a Basic Black mat before adhering it to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! A Touch Of Ink stamp set has some really pretty images with two step stamps that are pretty and easy to use. And the Side Fold Card is an easy fun fold – thank you Mary Deatherage for the great tutorial!
