Piece of Cake Birthday Card

Today’s card features a fancy double layer birthday cake using the new Piece of Cake Photopolymer stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalog.

My card is inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #379.

I started with a Coastal Cabana card base and added a white panel embossed with an older dotted embossing folder. I added a striped panel and die cut pinked circle made from the How Sweet it is DSP.

To make the focal element, I stamped the cake on white cardstock and colored it to match the colors in the How Sweet It Is DSP. The cake stand is punched from coastal cabana cardstock with the Cake Builder Punch and both are attached to a white die cut stitched circle. It’s finished with a baker’s twine bow and Melon Mambo scalloped circle and popped on the striped panel. The card is finished with a happy birthday banner.

The inside of the card is simply decorated using a strip from the How Sweet It Is DSP and Melon Mambo mat.

My Blogging Journey Begins

I attended my first Stampin’ Up! party in 2012 and have been hooked ever since. I made cards for family and friends and finally opened up an Etsy Shop to sell my handmade cards. But it wasn’t until last month that I finally joined Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator. Yay!

So I’m starting this blog and website to showcase my creations and share my love of card making and maybe inspire you as well.

Let me start by sharing a recent card that I made using Stampin’ Up! products.

This is a farmhouse style card using the Stampin’ Up! Country Home stamp set and Tin Tile embossing folder which were carried over from the 2018 Holiday Catalog and the Well Said stamp set and Well Written dies from the current Occasions Catalog. These are available as a bundle or separately. The milk can background is made using the Stitched Shape and Ovals dies from the current Annual Catalog. I also used locally purchased products such as the wood grain and light blue background papers which go with the popular farmhouse style. It is allowed to mix products from various vendors.

This is just a quick intro. Please check back regularly and if you enjoy what I share, subscribe to make sure you don’t miss a thing. If you are interested in purchasing any Stampin’ Up! products, I’d be happy to be your demonstrator.

Thanks!
