Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake Wedding Card

Good Morning! June is a big wedding month and today I have a white and silver wedding card featuring the Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake photopolymer stamp set.

I started by embossing a piece of shimmer white cardstock using the beautiful Country Floral embossing folder. Since the paper will sometimes shrink lengthwise after being embossed, I add an extra 1/8 inch to the length and then after embossing, I remeasured it and trim off the excess. This way I get the exact measurement I need. I then attached the embossed piece to a Silver Foil mat and then to a Thick Whisper White card base using snail.

I then stamped the floral cake, cake stand and the floral topper from the Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake stamp set on Whisper White using Versamark ink after dusting the cardstock with the embossing buddy. The embossing buddy is necessary for most embossing to keep the powder on the stamped image and minimize the stray pieces of embossing powder on the cardstock where you don’t want it. There are usually a few pieces that I still need to pick off with a pick. Then I sprinkled silver embossing powder on the images and set them with the heat tool. I punched the cake and cake stand with the Stampin’ Up! Cake Builder punch and fussy cut the flower topper with paper snips. I punched two more pieces of the cake and cake stand and glued them to the back of the embossed pieces with multipurpose liquid glue. This way I had thicker pieces, kind of like chipboard and it gives more dimension to the label. It’s pretty easy to do with the punch and these shapes!

I then took the largest of the Stitched Nested labels and die cut a part of the label from Thick Whisper White cardstock. I dusted the end with the embossing buddy and stamped the Mr & Mrs sentiment with Versamark ink. I sprinkled the sentiment with silver embossing powder and heat set it. I then glued the cake, cake stand and topper to the label and popped it on the card with dimensionals. I finished it off with 3 small rhinestone jewels.

For the inside of the card, I stamped and embossed the wedding sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Piece of Cake Photopolymer Stamp Set on Whisper White cardstock. I added a strip of Whisper White embossed with the country floral embossing folder and matted it with Silver Foil before attaching it to the inside of the card.

Silver Foil really dresses up a card and makes wedding cards extra special and they go so nicely with silver embossing powder. The Country Floral Embossing folder also adds a lovely touch to wedding cards. They just don’t photograph well because of the shine and sparkle – oh well!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!
