Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Friendship Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! For today’s card, I used the sweet sentiment from the Free as a Bird stamp set and the flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical bundle to make a note card for your BFF. You can find the supplies that I used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock.

We have a sketch challenge this week, and here is the sketch we are using:

I embossed a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock with the Coastal Weave embossing folder and adhered it to a So Saffron card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I cut a panel of the Tropical Oasis designer series paper and adhered it to a real red mat before popping it on the card base with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird cling stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a Whisper White strip and cut it out with the small long Stitched Rectangle die. I adhered it to a Real Red mat and then to the flowers with multipurpose liquid glue.

I stamped the frangipani flower and large leaf from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set in Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White. I colored the flower with the Light Real Red, Light Flirty Flamingo, Light Mango Melody and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I also used the Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to create highlights on the flower petals. I used the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin Blends to color the leaves. I cut the flower and leaf out with the coordinating die from the In The Tropics dies.

I die cut three long leaves from Old Olive cardstock, a set of three flowers from So Saffron and Real Red card stock and five of the small leaves from Shaded Spruce card stock. I arranged the die cuts on the card front and adhered them with multipurpose liquid glue and dimensionals where they were half on the floral panel and half off. Note that some were adhered to the embossed panel with multipurpose liquid glue. I finished off the frangipani flower with a large red rhinestone and the little red flowers with yellow rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones. I added small Red Rhinestones to the yellow flowers.

For the inside of the card, I adhered a strip of the Tropical Oasis DSP to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I stamped three partial frangipani flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set in Real Red after stamping off twice. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

I’m happy the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical and Free As A Bird stamp sets will be carried over to the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, but they won’t be available as a bundle with the 10% discount.

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Friendship Card

Good Morning! Today I have a tropical friendship card made with the beautiful flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp bundle. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I started by embossing a panel of Soft Suede card stock with the new Coastal Weave 3d Embossing folder. I adhered it to a Shaded Spruce Card base with snail. I took a piece of Timeless Oasis designer series paper and adhered it to a Shaded Spruce mat and then to the card base with snail. I stamped the large hibiscus, two plumeria flowers and two leafs from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set using Sahara Sand ink on Thick Whisper White card stock. I colored the hibiscus flower with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends. I colored the smaller plumeria flowers with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends with small touches of Light Real Red in the center. I highlighted the flower petals by using the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter to remove color from the flower petals, brushing back and forth in a linear fashion on the hibiscus and brushing in circular motions on the plumeria flower tips. I colored the leaves with the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, using the dark marker to highlight the leaf veins.

I stamped the monstera leaf from the Tropical Chic stamp set using the Stamparatus so that it would resemble the leaves on the Tropical Oasis DSP. I first stamped the leaf in Old Olive ink on Thick Whisper White card stock. I wiped the stamp and then inked the edges with Shaded Spruce ink. I used a sponge dauber to blend the ink on the stamp to remove the harsh edge and closed the Stamparatus. This resulted in a two tone look that goes pretty well with the way the leaves are colored on the DSP. I cut out all the flowers and leaves using their coordinating dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set on a strip of Whisper white using Sahara Sand ink. I trimmed the end of the label to make an angle and then sponged the edges to give it a vintage look. I adhered it to a Shaded Spruce mat.

I arranged the flowers, leaves and label on the card front. I adhered the label with glue dots. Then I adhered the leaves with glue dots. I added the small plumeria flowers next with glue dots. I finally added the large hibiscus flower with dimensionals. I brushed clear Wink of Stella over the flowers to give them some shimmer. I added two red rhinestones to the plumeria flower centers. I made a bow with Linen Thread and adhered it with a glue dot and finished off the card front with a little monstera leaf embellishment from the Tropical Oasis trinkets.

On the inside, I stamped the hibiscus flower from the Timeless Tropical stamp set on a Whisper White panel in Sahara Sand ink after stamping off. I trimmed the bottom with a strip of the Tropical Oasis designer series paper. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with snail.

The Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical bundle has the most beautiful tropical images and dies that coordinate with them. Tropical themed cards are perfect escapes during the cold winter, and this set is perfect for creating them. And the set also brings a bit of nostalgia with the vintage feel in the images and sentiments, evoking memories of warmer times, which help us get through the cold winter.

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Birthday Card

Good Morning! Today I have birthday card made with the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical bundle. I used the hibiscus stamp and die from this set to make a yellow flower to send a warm, tropical happy birthday message during this cold season. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I stamped the hibiscus flower and three large leaves from the Stampin’ Up Timeless Tropical cling stamp set using Sahara Sand ink on Thick Whisper White card stock. I used the coordinating dies from the In The Tropics dies to cut them out. I colored the flower with Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and the leaves with Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

I embossed a panel of Soft Suede card stock with the Coastal Weave embossing folder and adhered it to a Terracotta Tile card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I cut a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Stitched Lace die and adhered it to the embossed panel with multipurpose liquid glue. I arranged the leaves on the lace panel and adhered them with multipurpose liquid glue.

I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Timeless Tropical cling stamp set on a panel of Sahara Sand card stock with Soft Suede ink. I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle die. I adhered the label to the card front with multipurpose liquid glue over the leaves.

I brushed the flower with clear Wink of Stella to give the flower some sparkle – so pretty! I cut a short length of Braided Burlap trim and unraveled the ends. I folded it and adhered it to the card front with glue dots. I added the yellow hibiscus flower to the card front with dimensionals and finished the card front with Crushed Curry crinkled seam binding ribbon.

I stamped the hibiscus flower from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set with Sahara Sand ink on a panel of Whisper White after stamping off twice. I made a mask by stamping the flower on copy paper and cutting it out. I laid the mask on the flower and stamped two leaves, also using Sahara Sand ink after stamping off twice. I adhered the panel to a Soft Suede mat and then to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

I wanted to combine tropical rustic with soft feminine in this birthday card. The rustic is embodied in the coastal weave embossed background and burlap ribbon and the feminine is represented by the lace overlay and sparkle. I think the hibiscus combines the best of both! I hope you like it!

Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical Sneak Peek Pineapple Card

Good Morning! Today I have a sneak peek of a new stamp bundle from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog called Timeless Tropical. The Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical bundle is part of the Tropical Oasis Suite and consists of the Timeless Tropical cling stamp set and the In the Tropics dies. This bundle has beautiful images of palm trees and tropical flowers and a cute pineapple die cut. And that’s what I used in today’s card. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

The layout for my card was inspired by the Sunday Stamps Challenge SSC220 Keep It Open. Here is the sketch:

I sponged a Crushed Curry panel with Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Crumb Cake ink to create a splotchy look and then cut it out with the pineapple base die cut. I cut the pineapple top out of Mossy Meadow card stock and sponged the edges with Old Olive ink. I gently folded some of the leaves outward to give it movement and dimension.

I embossed a Soft Suede panel with the Coastal Weave embossing folder. I adhered a panel of the Tropical Oasis designer series paper to the embossed panel. I just love the retro station wagons with the wooden sides and surfboards on tom – how fun! I cut out the aloha sentiment using the die from the In the Tropics dies using Pretty Peacock card stock and adhered it to the DSP. I adhered the pineapple to the DSP with multipurpose liquid glue being careful not to get glue on the leaves that were bent out. Then I adhered the layered panel to a Soft Sea Foam card base.

I stamped the Rest and Relax sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set using Soft Suede ink on a panel of Thick Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the large label die from the Merry Christmas dies. I sponged the edges of the label with Crumb Cake ink and adhered it to a piece of the Braided Burlap trim with glue dots. I frayed the ends of the trim and adhered it to the card with more glue dots.

I stamped the palm trees from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropical stamp set on a Whisper White panel using Soft Suede ink after stamping off twice. I adhered a strip of the DSP to the bottom of the panel and adhered it to the inside of the card. I also stamped the palm trees on the side of a Whisper White medium envelope in Soft Suede ink after stamping off once.

This new Tropical Oasis suite is versatile with lots of pretty florals, tropical foliage and great sentiments too! I’m ready for a tropical vacation, aren’t you?
