Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! The Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle and the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper are some of the prettiest items in the current Mini Catalog. One of the biggest reasons is that when you combine the pretty watercolor design paper with the unique stamps and dies, it’s so easy to make beautiful cards featuring natural landscapes. And these products work great with other stamp sets, so I combined them with the trees from the Grassy Grove bundle for today’s card. You can find the supplies I used along with card stock cuts at the bottom of my post.

We have a theme challenge this week about creating a scene, so of course I selected the Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle to make my card:

I embossed a Basic White panel with the Timeworn Text 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Basic White card base with liquid glue. I selected my panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ designer series paper and cut 1″ off the bottom and 1-1/2″ off the top. Then I cut 1-1/2″ off the side. I saved the bottom and side panels to use for this card.

I cut the remaining DSP panel with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangles die. I stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon cling stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on the side of the die cut panel and the grass in Evening Evergreen across the bottom. I stamped the birds in Basic Gray in the sky and adhered the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat. I popped the panel on the card front with dimensionals.

I stamped the trees from the Grassy Grove photopolymer stamp set in Garden Green on the small panel of New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP that I put aside and cut it out with the coordinating die. I cut a panel of Evening Evergreen with the same die and adhered it to the back of the stamped trees to make it stiffer. I adhered the trees to the card front with dimensionals so that the horizon in the trees almost lined up with the background.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Versamark ink on Evening Evergreen. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder, shook off the excess and heated it with my heat tool until the powder was shiny. I cut the sentiment with the long label die from the Harvest dies so that the side was straight. I adhered the label to the card front with glue dots and finished the card front with pebble enamel shapes.

For the inside, I stamped the the trees from the Grassy Grove stamp set in Garden Green on the side of a Basic White panel. I stamped the grass from the Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on the other side. I used the grass die from the Horizon Dies to cut the 1″ wide strip of New Horizons DSP and stamped it with the grass stamp using Evening Evergreen. I adhered it to the inside panel with liquid glue and adhered the inside panel to an Evening Evergreen mat. I adhered the layered panel to the inside of the card.

So simple and so different! The Stampin’ Up! On the Horizon bundle is perfect when paired with the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ DSP for making landscapes – an easy way to feel like an artist!

Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove Card

Good Morning! The Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove bundle is a fun bundle with a wonderful woodsy frame die cut and pretty scenic stamps. I paired it with the pretty Beauty of the Earth designer series paper to make this little wooded scene inspirational card. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I adhered a panel of Pear Pizzazz card stock to the back of a greenery panel of Beauty of the Earth DSP with liquid glue and cut it out with the left side of the wooded frame die cut from the Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove Bundle. I wanted to pop up the die cut frame with dimensionals and needed a double layer to make it stiffer.

I stamped the long ground stamp with shrubs from the Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove cling stamp set in Mossy Meadow on a blue sky panel of the Beauty of the Earth DSP. I sponged Cinnamon Cider ink on the ground with a sponge dauber, and it nicely covered the blue sky, so my ground looked realistic. I stamped the deer in Crumb Cake on Basic White and fussy cut it out. There is a die that works nicely, but I didn’t want the white edge for such a small focal piece. I adhered the deer to the stamped panel with liquid glue and adhered the die cut wooded frame with dimensionals. I adhered the layered panel to an Early Espresso mat.

I adhered a strip of wood grained Beauty of the Earth DSP to the front of a Crumb Cake card base and adhered the little scene with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove stamp set in Mossy Meadow on Pear Pizzazz and cut it out with the Messages die. I adhered the label to the frame with glue dots and finished the card front with adhesive pebbles.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the trees from the Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove stamp set in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White panel. I trimmed the bottom of the panel with a strip of wood grained Beauty of the Earth DSP and adhered it to the inside of the card.

The wooded frame die from the Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove bundle is so neat! But the other scenic stamps are also pretty and the sentiments are sweet. And it goes beautifully with the Beauty of the Earth DSP! The different prints give your project texture and interest and are perfect for the natural woods theme of the bundle!
