Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Get Well Card

Good Morning! In preparation for tomorrow’s Inkin Krew Ornate Garden Facebook Event, I have a card today using the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style stamp bundle in combination with the get well sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I cut an panel of the Mint Macaron background Ornate Garden specialty designer series paper with the large frame die from the Ornate Layers Dies and sponged the edge with Sahara Sand ink to give it a distressed look. I adhered it to a Mint Macaron card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I stamped the large floral bouquet from the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a Whisper White panel. I colored it with Rococo Rose, So Saffron, Old Olive, Dark Mango Melody and Bronze Stampin’ Blends. I colored the background with the light Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend using a circular motion to give it a mottled look and cut out the panel with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

I adhered the floral panel to an Early Espresso mat with multipurpose liquid glue and then to the card front with dimensionals. I stamped the get well soon sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a strip of Early Espresso card stock. I sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat set until it was shiny. I trimmed the end and trimmed the end of a strip of the gold foil Mint Macaron paper from the Ornate Garden DSP. I adhered the two strips together with multipurpose liquid glue and adhered them to the card front.

I made a bow with the new Mint Macaron ribbon and adhered it with glue dots and finished the card front with three gold faceted gems.

I decorated the inside by stamping the little flower from the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style stamp set in Early Espresso ink in the corner of a Whisper White panel. I colored it with So Saffron, Old Olive and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends. I added a strip of the Ornate Garden specialty designer series paper on the bottom and adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style cling stamp set comes bundled with the Ornate Layers Dies at a 10% discount. This bundle is one of the items in the Ornate Garden Early Release and will be in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! I made a card with the Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts cling stamp set and the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies from the Coordination Products Release. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

We have a sketch challenge this week, and here is the sketch we are using:

I started by embossing a panel of Mint Macaron card stock with the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder and the 3D embossing folder plate and adhering it to the bottom of a panel of Garden Lane designer series paper with multipurpose liquid glue. I adhered the layered DSP to a Soft Suede card base. I stamped the Hugs Prayers Love sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts stamp set with Versamark Ink on a Sahara Sand panel and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder. I heat set the embossing powder. I stamped the fern three times on the panel with Mint Macaron ink, once full strength and twice after stamping off. I cut the panel out with the fancy stitched rectangle die from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink to give it a distressed look.

I stamped the fern from the Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink on a Whisper White panel. I cut it out with the coordinating die. I stamped the flower in Blushing Bride ink on a Whisper White panel and cut it out with the coordinating die. I cut the flower center out of Blushing Bride card stock with the die from the Nature’s Thoughts dies and pushed up the little die cuts. I also cut out two of the sprigs from Rococo Rose card stock. I lightly sponged all the die cuts with Soft Suede ink.

I adhered the flower center to the stamped flower with multipurpose liquid glue and added a Rococo Rose faceted dot. I arranged the leaves and buds on the embossed panel and adhered them with multipurpose liquid glue. I folded and trimmed a length of white linen ribbon and adhered it with glue dots. I popped the layered flower on with dimensionals and added a linen thread bow. I finished it off with a gold foil butterfly cut with the small butterfly die from the Nature’s Thoughts dies. I adhered the panel to the card front with dimensionals.

I stamped the corners of a Whisper White panel with the fern stamp in Mint Macaron ink after stamping off. I trimmed the bottom with a strip of the Garden Lane DSP and adhered it to the inside of the card with snail.

The Stampin’ Up! Positive Thoughts cling stamp set has so many beautiful natural images and I love all the cards I have seen using it. And it’s so appropriate to our times. Take care!

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad Get Well Card

Good Morning! Today I have a get well card made with the Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad photopolymer stamp set. This stamp set is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order! Many of the products used in today’s card are Sale-A-Bration items and I will point them out as I mention them. You can find all the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I cut a panel of the Lily Impressions designer series paper and adhered it to a Pretty Peacock mat with snail. The Lily Impressions designer series paper is another Sale-A-Bration item that is FREE with a $50 order and it’s so pretty! I stamped the large lily and two of the small lilies from the Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad stamp set in Petal Pink ink on a panel of shimmer white card stock. I used my aqua painter and Petal Pink ink to add color to the base of each petal, leaving the tips white. I did this by smooshing the ink pad to deposit ink on the lid (or you can smoosh it on an extra stamp block) and picked up the ink with the tip of the aqua painter brush and use it to color the image. The shimmer white paper is safe for water coloring, so I chose to use it instead of water color paper – plus you get the benefits of the sparkle!

After coloring the large lily and two small lilies, I cut them out with the Lily Pad dies. The Lily Pad Dies is another FREE Sale-A-Bration product with a $100 order. I stamped a large lily pad leaf from the Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and two of the smaller leaves using Soft Sea Foam ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock. I cut the leaves out with the Lily Pad dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Sending You Thoughts stamp set – another Sale-A-Bration item that is available for FREE with a $50 order – using Pretty Peacock ink on a strip of vellum. Ink takes longer to dry on vellum, so I set it aside for a while. After it was dry, I wrapped it around the matted DSP panel and secured it in the back with snail.

I adhered the large lily pad leaf to the Lily Impressions panel with dimensionals and adhered the flower on top with dimensionals. I adhered a small lily leaf and flower with snail. I tied a short length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle and tucked it under the flower with a glue dot. I made a bow with Grapefruit Grove Twine and tucked it on top of the tulle with a glue dot. I adhered the panel to a Pool Party card base with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set on a Whisper White panel using Pretty Peacock ink. I added the last small flower and leaf to the top corner and a strip of the Lily Impressions designer series paper to the bottom. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with snail.

Sale-A-Bration is the best Stampin’ Up! promotion of the year and the items that are available this year are are incredible! The Stampin’ Up! Lovely Lily Pad stamp set is also special in that it is specially made to be reversible! You can flip the stamp over on the stamp pad and stamp the solid image on the reverse! Sale-A-Bration is going on now through March 31.

Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Get Well Card

Hello and welcome! Today I have a simple card for someone under the weather made with the Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes stamp set. This is a set that was introduced last year and is now available only as a cling rubber stamp set. Most of the wood mount sets are no longer available from Stampin’ Up! They have perfected the cling stamp set labels so that they stick really well to acrylic stamp blocks. In the new 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog they have replaced most of the wood mount and clear mount red rubber stamps with the new cling mount rubber stamps, and they really do stick much better, but have the same red rubber stamping area!

The design of my card is inspired by the Fab Friday 165 sketch challenge. It’s a simple layout that is pretty versatile!

Check out the other entries for this challenge by clicking on the picture above.

To create today’s card, I started by embossing a piece of Pool Party card stock with the Subtles embossing folder and matting it with Whisper White. This embossing gives texture and interest without distracting from your main image. After embossing, I adhered the matted panel to a Pool Party Card base.

I then made the main image background by sponging Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive inks in random patterns on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then spritzed it with water and blotted it with a paper towel, giving it a mottled look. I was really pleased that the inks reacted with the water to give lighter splotches where the water droplets landed. I then needed to let the panel dry completely and I pressed it under books overnight to flatten the paper.

Then I made the art panel by running the embossing buddy over the sponged background and stamped the single dandelion and sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes stamp set in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set. After it cooled I cut out it with the stitched rectangle die. I cut a piece of the Whisper White Flax ribbon and adhered it to the embossed panel with snail and adhered the art panel with dimensionals. I finished it off with an old Pool Party enamel dot from my stash.

I finished the inside by stamping the dandelion seeds flying away in Pool Party on Whisper White cardstock and adhering it to the inside of the card. I also stamped this image on the corner of the envelope to match!

I remember as a child blowing the dandelions and making wishes. These days I pick them quickly before they turn to seed and spread all over my lawn – too funny! The Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes cling stamp set has nostalgic images of summer and great sentiments with beautiful fonts for sending wishes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
