Stampin’ Up! Seascape You’re the Best Card

Good Morning! Here’s a fun undersea card made with the pretty Stampin’ Up! Seascape bundle. And I made the background with the splotchy ink stamp from the Artistically Inked cling stamp set! I got this idea from my friend Karen Finkle, who made this card using the same technique – be sure to check it out! This was a fun to make and I’m so pleased with how it came out! You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I stamped a panel with the splotchy ink stamp from the Artistically inked stamp set, using Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Pool Party inks on a Basic White panel. I used the darker colors on the bottom getting lighter as it goes up. I used some embossing buddy on the lower corner (I was too impatient to wait for the ink to completely dry) and stamped the coral from the Stampin’ Up! Seascape cling stamp set in Versamark ink. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and shook off the excess. I heat set the embossing powder until it was shiny. Be careful to heat the whole thing – it’s a large image with lots of coral branches and its easy to miss spots. Then I stamped the seaweed along the bottom in Old Olive and wiped off the excess ink from the embossed coral with a tissue. I finished the background by stamping three jellyfish from the Whale Done stamp set around the top in Fresh Freesia ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Encircled in Friendship stamp set in night of Pacific Point ink on a Pool Party panel and cut it out with Messages die. Then I stamped the Artistically Inked splotchy ink stamp again in Pacific Point on a Basic White Strip and cut it out with the banner label from the Messages die. I adhered the banner to the stamped undersea background panel and adhered the panel to a Basic White mat. I adhered the stamped label to the banner and popped the whole panel onto the front of a Pacific Point card base.

I cut out the seahorse from the Sea Life dies in the Stampin’ Up! Seascape bundle from Evening Evergreen card stock, and carefully cut the seahorse outline out. Note that the die is designed so that the seahorse is not detached from the background. I brushed the seahorse with clear Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle and covered it with Shimmery Crystal Effects to make it shine. Check out the reflections in the last picture! I let the Shimmery Crystal Effects dry for an hour before handling the seahorse. I cut up small pieces of dimensionals and used them to adhere the seahorse to the card front. I colored a length of white crinkle ribbon with Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend, made a small bow and adhered it to the card under the label. I finished the card front with three opal rounds.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Seascape stamp set in Pacific Point ink on a Basic White panel. I stamped the seaweed a couple of times in Old Olive and the fish in Calypso Coral. I stamped another jellyfish from the Whale Done stamp set in the upper corner in Fresh Freesia. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card.

The seahorse from Stampin’ Up! Seascape bundle is really beautiful with all the intricate die cuts! And didn’t the Artistically Inked splotchy stamp make a wonderful background for it?

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Card Trio

Good Morning! I had a very busy stamping weekend because we had big virtual quarterly team meeting where we always have projects to work on! This weekend our projects used the beautiful new Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance bundle, each using the bundle in a different way. You can find the supplies I used at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I was really excited because these designs show the versatility of the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance bundle by using different techniques! I used the sentiments from the So Sentimental cling stamp set and the Tasteful Labels dies for my labels. Thanks to our talented leaders Amy Koenders, Mary Deatherage and Jaimie Babarczy for the beautiful designs!

The first card uses the big butterfly in the Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Butterflies cling stamp set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, cut out with the corresponding die and colored with So Saffron, Mango Melody and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. The In Good Taste wood grained DSP is stamped with other butterflies in the set in Sahara Sand ink and mixed with Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and the Beautiful Butterfly Bijou DSP.

The inside has a Basic White panel, stamped with butterflies in Sahara Sand, just like the card front.

The second project was originally a tag, but I love Tag Cards, so I popped it on a card front. This butterfly is one of the butterflies cut from the Butterfly Bijou DSP, and has a beautiful Vellum overlay! There’s a row of silver metallic pearls running down the butterfly body and the beautiful sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight. The tag is finished with White and Misty Moonlight ribbon, tied with Linen Thread and I popped it on a Just Jade card base covered with more Butterfly Bijou and 2020-2022 In-Color Just Jade DSP.

I stamped more butterflies in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel and trimmed it in a strip of Butterfly Bijou DSP.

For the final card, we cut a panel of Butterfly Bijou DSP with the detailed large butterfly die and adhered it to a Basic White mat. Then we cut the same butterfly in Basic Black and adhered it to the opening! You can see the Basic White through the opening and it looks like a black and white butterfly. The sequins are yellow iridescent – I don’t know why they look green, LOL. The sentiment is embossed in white to keep with the black and white look.

Here’s the Butterfly Bijou DSP butterfly die cut! It’s the perfect accent for the inside of the card!

Three different butterfly cards and three different techniques using the same set just begin to show how versatile the Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance bundle is.

Stampin’ Up! Four Season Floral Note Cards

Good Morning! Today I have a little project that is perfect for beginner stampers and card makers. The sweet Stampin’ Up! Four Season Floral photopolymer stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! Beginner Brochure and has simple floral images and sentiments that are great for coloring or just stamping. You can pair the stamps with the Flowers for Every Season Cards and More and the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card pack. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post.

For the first card, I used the Tasteful Touches Dies to cut a label from Bumblebee card stock and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Four Seasons Floral Stamp set in Poppy Parade ink in the lower corner. I applied a floral sticker from the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card pack and a Magenta Madness enamel dot to the label and adhered the it to the pretty striped card from the Flowers for Every Season Cards and More set with dimensionals. I adhered the layered card to the front of one of the white Flowers for Every Season Cards and More card bases with more dimensionals.

For the second card, I used the pretty Misty Moonlight 3″ x 4″ cards from the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card pack. I another floral sticker to the center and stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Four Seasons Floral Stamp set in Just Jade ink on a strip of Whisper White. I adhered the label to the card with liquid glue and added a twine bow and Bumblebee enamel dot. I adhered the card to the front of the white Flowers for Every Season Cards and More card bases with dimensionals

For the third card, I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Four Seasons Floral Stamp set in Just Jade ink on the card from the pretty Flowers for Every Season Cards and More card and added a Magenta Madness enamel dot. I wrapped a length of Magenta Madness ribbon around the card and secured it in the back with Stampin’ Seal. I added a Magenta Madness faux bow to the bottom and popped it on another white Flowers for Every Season Cards and More card base with dimensionals.

The last card was the simplest! I trimmed a Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card pack card by 1/16″ on all sides and adhered it to a Cinnamon Cider mat (cut to 3″ x 4″). I used this card because it has the same design as the envelope liner, as well as a sweet sentiment. I decorated it with 3 Bumblebee enamel dots and popped it on another white Flowers for Every Season Cards and More card base with dimensionals.

The Flowers for Every Season Cards and More pack has:

  • Ten 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ white card bases
  • Ten envelopes with printed linings
  • Ten 3″ x 4″ double sided printed card fronts (two designs, five of each)

The small Memories and more cards are 3″ x 4″, so the Flowers for Every Season Memories and More card packs fit perfectly as well – and they have the cute stickers. And the designs coordinate with the stamps in the Stampin’ Up! Four Season Floral stamp set and other products in the Flowers for Every Season suite. So these are the perfect products for the beginning stamper or for when you are crunched for time and need a pretty card quick.

Stampin’ Up! Autumn Goodness For You Card Sneak Peek

Good Morning! Today I’m sharing a sneak peek of a fun new bundle from the 2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalog called Stampin’ Up! Autumn Goodness (available Aug 4). And I have paired this bundle with the new Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ designer series paper (available Aug 4). You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I adhered a panel of Pretty Peacock plaid from the Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ designer series paper (available Aug 4) to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I embossed a panel of Bumblebee card stock with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the top of the panel. I wrapped a length of Bumblebee In Color Twill ribbon around the seam and secured it in the back. I popped the panel on the front of a Pretty Peacock card base with dimensionals.

I stamped the wheelbarrow from the Stampin’ Up! Autumn Goodness (available Aug 4) photopolymer stamp set in Cinnamon Cider ink on Cinnamon Cider card stock and cut it out with the coordinating die from the Autumn Wheelbarrow Dies (available Aug 4). A wooden wheelbarrow – isn’t it so cute? I cut the wheel out with gold foil and adhered it to the back and adhered a gold metallic pearl to the front. I stamped the flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Autumn Goodness stamp set (available Aug 4) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a Whisper White panel and cut it out with the coordinating die. I colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends – Magenta Madness, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron and Granny Apple Green.

I cut the third largest of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies from Thick Whisper White card stock and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals. I adhered the wheelbarrow on the panel with Stampin’ Seal and the flowers with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Autumn Goodness stamp set (available Aug 4) in Pretty Peacock ink on Bumblebee card stock. I cut it out with the smallest Stitched Nested Labels Die and adhered it with Stampin’ Seal. I finished off the card front with three 2019-2021 In Color Butterfly Gems.

I adhered a strip of the Plaid Tidings designer series paper (available Aug 4) to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I adhered the panel to a Bumblebee mat and then to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up Autumn Goodness stamp set and Autumn Wheelbarrow Dies will be available on Aug 4 as a bundle at 10% discount. In addition to the flowers, there are stamps for pumpkins and a sheaf with coordinating die cuts and several sweet fall harvest sentiments. Stampin’ Up! Vibrant Vases with Flowering Foils Just For You Card

Good Morning! Today I am sharing another pretty card made with the Sale-A-Bration Flowering Foils specialty designer series paper and featuring the lovely sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Vibrant Vases photopolymer stamp set. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

My card layout was inspired by Sunday Stamps SSC226. Check out the inspiration and other entries for this pretty sketch.

I started by embossing a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Scripty embossing folder. I adhered it to a Whisper white mat and wrapped a length of Metallic Edge Petal Pink ribbon around it, securing it in the back.

I picked a flower from the large floral paper in the Flowering Foils specialty designer series paper and colored it with Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut the flower and adhered it to the card front with multipurpose liquid glue. I adhered the panel to the front of a Petal Pink card base with dimensionals.

I stamped the just for you sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Vibrant Vases stamp set on a panel of Thick Whisper White card stock in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with copper embossing powder and heat set. I cut it out with the small scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals. I made a bow with a length of the Metallic Edge Petal Pink ribbon and adhered it to the top of the card with glue dots. I added a Champagne rhinestone to the label.

I colored another flower from the Flowering Foils specialty designer series paper and trimmed it before adhering it to the bottom corner of a Whisper White panel. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with snail.

The sentiments in the Stampin’ Up! Vibrant Vases stamp set are done with a very elegant font that goes well with the Sale-A-Bration Flowering Foils DSP. The shine of the foil outline images is wonderful and the paper is so easy to color with the Stampin’ Blends, making for a very special card.

Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies You are the Best Card

Good Morning and Happy Valentine’s Day! Today’s card is made with the beautiful and versatile Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies stamp set. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I stamped the small poppy field stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on thick Whisper White card stock. I stamped twice so that the flowers would go across the panel. I cut out the panel with the largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I colored the flowers with the light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend.

I cut a panel of Gray Granite card stock with the third largest Stitched Rectangle die and ran it through the Stone embossing folder. The Stone embossing folder is a Sale-A-Bration item that comes in the Power of Hope bundle that is FREE with a $100 purchase. I adhered the stamped thick Whisper White panel over the embossed panel with dimensionals. I adhered the embossed panel over a Poppy Parade card base with dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Varied Vases stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a strip of Poppy Parade card stock. I cut out the label using the long thin Stitched Rectangle die using the two-step partial die cutting method so that it would be long enough for the entire sentiment. I adhered it to the poppy panel with glue dots. I colored some basic pearls with my dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend and added them to the panel to finish it off.

I stamped the middle section of the small poppy field stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies stamp set across a strip of Whisper White. I colored the flowers with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend and adhered it to the bottom of a Whisper White panel. I adhered the panel to a Gray Granite mat and then to the inside of the card.

Stampin’ Up! Floral Essence Beautiful Day Card

Good Morning! Today I am sharing a video that I did yesterday during my Sunday Facebook Live session. At Stampin’ Up! On Stage last month, we made a beautiful card using products from the Peaceful Poppies Suite – the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper with the Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moment stamp sets. Today I am recreating the card using the same sketch but using currently available products – the Stampin’ Up! Floral Essence stamp set with the Perennial Essence designer series paper. You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

Here’s the Facebook Live video showing how to make this beautiful card:

I also posted the video to my YouTube channel and you can view it here.

Here is the example card from On Stage in Poppy Parade with the card from the video in Balmy Blue.

I started by stamping the line flower image and leaf image from the Stampin’ Up! Floral Essence stamp set using Balmy Blue ink on the front of a Balmy Blue card base. I adhered the green Perennial Essence DSP with snail at an angle. I adhered the floral Perennial Essence DSP on top of it, but slightly offset. I stamped the sentiment on a panel of Whisper White and tore the bottom. I wrapped it in Mossy Meadow Linen Thread and added a bow and popped it on the card with dimensionals. I finished off the front with three rhinestones.

I stamped the flower from the Stampin’ Up! Floral Essence stamp set around the edge of a Whisper White panel using Balmy Blue ink. I adhered the panel to the inside of the card with snail.

Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals For You Card

Good Morning! I hope you had a great week and have great plans for the weekend. Today, I have another card showcasing some pretty Designer Series Paper to celebrate the final days of the Stampin’ Up! Buy 3 Get 1 Free paper sale. I made a card using the Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper. This is a lightweight paper that has photographic images of pressed flowers – another pretty set! You can find the supplies used to create this card at the bottom of my post along with the sizes of cardstock used.

I cut a panel of the blue flower paper from the Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper with the bouquet centered on my panel. I matted it on Very Vanilla cardstock using liquid glue and then to a Night of Navy card base. I cut a strip of Night of Navy cardstock and adhered a piece of Very Vanilla Scalloped lace to the bottom and then adhered it to the card front with liquid glue.

I stamped the large flower from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Blueberry Bushel ink. I stamped the center of the flower on Very Vanilla cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped the for you label on Very Vanilla cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut out all of these items using the coordinating dies from the Bouquet Bunch dies. I also cut out two leaf sprigs from the Bouquet Bunch dies on Garden Green card stock.

I tied a piece of Linen thread around the label and glued the pieces of the bouquet together. Then I attached them to the card front with dimensionals. I tied a loose bow with more linen thread and attached it using a mini glue dot.

I decorated the inside of the card by adhering a strip of the Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Designer Series paper to the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel using liquid glue. I adhered the Very Vanilla panel to the inside of the card.

The Stampin’ Up! Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series paper has 24 lightweight sheets in the pack and is versatile as well as beautiful. Since it has more sheets, it’s more expensive than a standard package of Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper, but you can still choose it as your free set after purchasing three other packs! Who else lets you do that?

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for visiting!

Akiko

Stampin’ Up! Bloom by Bloom You are Amazing Card

Good Morning! Today’s card uses some of my favorite items from the retiring Stampin’ Up 2018 – 2019 Annual Catalog and the 2019 Occasions Catalog to say good bye. Today is the last day to order from these catalogs. The Stampin’ Up! Bloom by Bloom stamp set first caught my eye because of the big, bold, beautiful flowers. The ‘amazing’ word die from the Stampin’ Up! Celebrate You thinlits has such a stylish font that makes any card special.

I started by stamping the little flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Bloom by Bloom photopolymer stamp set on a Whisper White square in Calypso Coral, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch. I stamped the sentiment which came from an old Sale-A-Bration set Amazing You in Night of Navy. I die cut the flowers using a circle from the stitched shapes set along with a scalloped circle from calypso coral. I attached these using snail adhesive.

I die cut the fancy ‘amazing’ word die from the Stampin’ Up! Celebrate You thinlits from a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and glued it to the bottom of the flower panel using the fine tipped glue pen.

Then I attached a strip of the Happiness Blooms floral DSP to the Call Me Clover mat and then the Happiness Blooms striped DSP next to it. I have a hard time lining things up straight, so I did the wider DSP first, because it’s easier to make fine adjustments with the thinner one if needed. I next attached the panel to a Calypso Coral Card base and finally the floral circle with the die cut word to the DSP panel. All of these were done using snail adhesive, so the card is pretty flat. To finish off the front, I added 3 Night of Navy enamel dots from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots to the circle with the flowers.

On the inside of the card, I added a strip of the Happiness Blooms floral DSP to the left side of a Whisper White panel and matted it in Call Me Clover before attaching it to the inside card base.

It’s sad to say good-bye to the Stampin’ Up! Bloom by Bloom stamp set as the catalogs close out. But there are so many pretty new things in the new 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog which starts tomorrow. I haven’t posted many sneak peeks, but there are lots of them on the internet and I can’t wait to get started!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Cake Soiree and All My Love DSP For You Card

Good Morning! The star of today’s card is the All My Love DSP, along with the roses from the Cake Soiree stamp and die set. As a bonus, the font is so beautiful!

The layout for the card is inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #386. I was surprised and pleased at how the sharp angles of the sketch complement the soft floral themes in the DSP and rose die cuts.

Starting with the DSP with the roses and Crumb Cake background, I cut a rectangle. Then, I placed the large rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles dies on an angle at the bottom. I was careful, not to overlap the top of the die with the top edge of the paper, because I didn’t want it to be cut. Then I ran it through my die cutting machine and got a lovely stitched edge on the bottom. I then adhered it to the Lovely Lipstick mat and carefully trimmed the angled bottom on my paper cutter.

I die cut the large rose from the Cake Soiree die cuts in Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo. I used one of the leftover pieces to trace the image on a piece of Whisper White. Then I colored it using the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. I colored the center with the dark marker. Then using the light marker, I blended the color outward and colored the rest. I then cut it out with paper snips and adhered it to the back of the white die cut with the fine tipped glue pen. I left the Flirty Flamingo die cut without a backing.

Then I stamped the solid rose using Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White. First, I inked up the stamp and stamped it off. Then, using an ink dauber, I added more ink to the center of the stamp. This gave me an image with a darker center. I used the matching die to cut it out. I was really pleased at how well these roses matched the DSP!

I die cut a stitched circle from Crumb Cake, and stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick. I die cut a scalloped circle from Lovely Lipstick and mounted it to the back of the stitched circle. I die cut some of the open leaves using some old Pistachio Pudding scraps and attached them to the back of the solid rose with a glue dot. I then arranged the roses and and added pearl accents, popping the center rose with dimensionals. I adhered the circle to the card front using dimensionals.

The inside of the card is pretty simple, only being accented with a strip of the floral DSP and matted with Lovely Lipstick.

In using this stamp set, I felt that I should make a cake card because the cake is so beautiful. But the roses go well with the DSP and make a nice statement on their own. I will just have cake cards later! Thanks for stopping by!
