Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom Birthday Card for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good Morning! Welcome to the June Inkin’ Krew Monthly Blog Hop! The theme for this month’s hop is Birthday and as our first monthly Blog Hop after the release of the new catalog, I’m really excited to see all Birthday theme projects with the new products.

For today’s Blog Hop, I made a floral Birthday Card with the pretty new Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom stamp bundle.

I cut the large outline die from the Many Layered Blossoms Dies from Misty Moonlight card stock. I cut the thicker large die from Balmy Blue card stock. I cut each of the flower centers from the thicker die with small squares of So Saffron card stock and trimmed the spokes so that I just had the center. I adhered the So Saffron center to each balmy blue flower with liquid glue so that the flowers would look like forget-me-nots. Then I adhered the Misty Moonlight outline die cut on top with small dots of multipurpose liquid glue.

I stamped the large floral image from the Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom photopolymer stamp set in Balmy Blue ink on Balmy Blue card stock. I fussy cut the flowers with my paper snips and adhered the flowers to the back of the large layered die cuts. This way I had a darker flower petal behind the balmy blue. I stamped the Happy Birthday Sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom in Versamark Ink on a strip of Misty Moonlight card stock. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set until shiny. I trimmed the ends to make a fishtail banner.

I embossed a Whisper White panel with the new Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder and adhered it to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I adhered the layered flowers to the embossed card front with dimensionals. I adhered the embossed sentiment to the flowers with multipurpose liquid glue. I colored a length of crinkle ribbon with the Light So Saffron Stampin’ Blend and tied it around the top of the card and made a bow with long flowing tails. I finished the card front with Misty Moonlight enamel dots.

I die cut one of the small flowers with Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue and So Saffron card stock like the flowers on the card front and adhered the pieces together with small dots of multipurpose liquid glue. I adhered the flower to the upper right corner of a Whisper White panel. I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and then to the inside of the card with multipurpose liquid glue.

The Stampin’ Up! Blossoms in Bloom is a wonderful set with the beautiful layered die cut flowers and makes very special Birthday Cards.

  1. Well! THis is such a lovely card. This, along with one from Mary and a couple others I have seen have just about made me change my mind about this set, which didn’t give me any buzz when I saw it in the catalog. Thanks for sharing
