Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Get Well Card

Hello and welcome! Today I have a simple card for someone under the weather made with the Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes stamp set. This is a set that was introduced last year and is now available only as a cling rubber stamp set. Most of the wood mount sets are no longer available from Stampin’ Up! They have perfected the cling stamp set labels so that they stick really well to acrylic stamp blocks. In the new 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog they have replaced most of the wood mount and clear mount red rubber stamps with the new cling mount rubber stamps, and they really do stick much better, but have the same red rubber stamping area!

The design of my card is inspired by the Fab Friday 165 sketch challenge. It’s a simple layout that is pretty versatile!

To create today’s card, I started by embossing a piece of Pool Party card stock with the Subtles embossing folder and matting it with Whisper White. This embossing gives texture and interest without distracting from your main image. After embossing, I adhered the matted panel to a Pool Party Card base.

I then made the main image background by sponging Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive inks in random patterns on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then spritzed it with water and blotted it with a paper towel, giving it a mottled look. I was really pleased that the inks reacted with the water to give lighter splotches where the water droplets landed. I then needed to let the panel dry completely and I pressed it under books overnight to flatten the paper.

Then I made the art panel by running the embossing buddy over the sponged background and stamped the single dandelion and sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes stamp set in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heat set. After it cooled I cut out it with the stitched rectangle die. I cut a piece of the Whisper White Flax ribbon and adhered it to the embossed panel with snail and adhered the art panel with dimensionals. I finished it off with an old Pool Party enamel dot from my stash.

I finished the inside by stamping the dandelion seeds flying away in Pool Party on Whisper White cardstock and adhering it to the inside of the card. I also stamped this image on the corner of the envelope to match!

I remember as a child blowing the dandelions and making wishes. These days I pick them quickly before they turn to seed and spread all over my lawn – too funny! The Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes cling stamp set has nostalgic images of summer and great sentiments with beautiful fonts for sending wishes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
